Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper – FULL TIME, OFFICE BASED

Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to do some Cashier and Bookkeeping work within their legal firm. You will provide and maintain accurate client and office account records and have a sound knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules & HMRC requirements.  You will process daily banking, office and client transfers, cheques, petty cash and you will also prepare bank reconciliations.  You will input transactions on the accounts system and update ledgers using accounting management software, Insight.  You will ensure payment of all firm invoices, establish and manage effective relationships with suppliers and deal with fee earner enquiries and communications.  You will proactively manage the timely, accurate generation of month and year end reports. and review WIP, Selection and Aged Debtors reports with fee earners and partners.  You will be responsible for the regular reviewing of expenditure to ensure that budgets are kept to and expenses are kept to a minimum.  You will create and review operational financial policies and administer, identify and implement training needs and requirements.  You will ensure payroll is properly administered and build and maintain a good working relationship with partners, fee earners and support staff.  You will have a willingness to inform the Senior Partner of any accounting breeches and breaking of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

You will ideally have a knowledge of Solicitors accounts rules or a willingness to learn and you will be reliable and trustworthy.  You will have the ability to prioritise own workload and work under pressure without supervision in a busy and deadline driven environment. You will be positive and have excellent communication and people skills as well as be a team player with excellent time management skills.  You will be hardworking and self motivated and well organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

THIS IS A FULL TIME AND OFFICE BASED ROLE
£30 – 35.0000P.A
