You will provide mechanical design input into New Engineering Request projects. This will include completing research, analysing problems and providing solutions by contributing to design, development, prototyping, qualification and launch of new product offerings. A good understanding of electronics would be a distinct advantage.
You will complete New Engineering Request tasks as assigned by the Lead Systems Engineer, produce CAD models and drawings to a high standard, manage NER project tasks as assigned and report on project progress. You will manage product configurations using DDM and contribute to engineering review meetings as well as provide technical expertise in the development of new products.
Qualification and Experience
Whilst a Degree is desirable, it is not a requirement for this role. Relevant workplace experience will count more and be viewed favourably. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience, gained within a similar role.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ghood written and verbal communication skills, competent in the use of 3D design software (preferably with strong familiarisation with SolidWorks / Creo), ability to clearly communicate or illustrate technical ideas
A good understanding of electronics / electrical design. Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IP ratings, ATEX, etc.) Hands on experience in the assembly of prototypes and subsequent testing. A Degree or other qualification in a relevant subject.
The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who works well both on their own initiative and as part of a collaborative team. You will have good attention to detail and be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
